To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will be seen on the screen. It is an unique number for any given handset. That means, this unique number will correspond to only your mobile. Note it and save it safely somewhere. In case your mobile gets stolen, you can inform your mobile operator by giving that code. Mobile operator can block the mobile having that code. Even when the thief changes the SIM Card, he or she will not be able to use the phone. Your mobile phone becomes useless. By following this, one may not get their phone back but can ensure that the theif is not selling or using it. If every phone is protected in this way, there is no use in stealing mobile phones, and this might bring down the cases of mobile phone thefts.
